I have tried many combinations of autokeyguard, lock code, pin code request on/off, and phone autolock period to try to achieve simply this:
I want to only manually lock my phone when I press the slide switch, never autolock it. Is this even possible?
And what is the difference between the lock code and the pin code??? What is the autokeyguard setting to "on" when there is no phone autolock period??
I'm sorry but I find the whole interface really confusing, and I did RTFM! No help there I'm afraid. So I'm pleading with you kind and patient souls to please help me out.
Sorry in advance if I've missunderstood your request 😊 and all of these are settings from my N97 (hemhem) Classic but have you tried:
Menu > Settings >Phone > Phone Mgmt > Auto.Keyguard > (press on) "Keypad autolock period" which then brings up option for "none"
In Phone Mgmt > Slide settings - I have left "Lock keys with slide close as off" as I seem to be able to manually lock the screen with the physical slider and that option seemed to throw up a seemingly inconsistent/uneccessary prompt but I could well have missinterpretted it's raison d'etre. However although I have autolock on I still can lock manually and it is consistent so can't see why with it set to "none" it wouldn't work for you
Thank you.
I tried the following combination:
AutoKeyguard "off"
Lock keys with slide close "off"
Auto lock period "off"
The result is that when I press the slider switch to lock the phone, then press it again to unlock it, the phone does not prompt me for the lock code but instead lets me in completely. I still cannot seem to lock this phone manually.
Does the above work for you or anyone else?
There must be a way to do this. It seems silly to not be able to.
