Review: London Undergroung Tube Map

Oh dear. Ewan had high hopes for this Java application, but in the end it's the (proud?) first winner of the Zeppelin Award for really bad software. Do you agree with Ewan's review?

Wow, my head is spinning about the download procedure, I think this is one app, I'll do without.

Also starting at the Top of the Map, I live near Morden (Southern most Station). I think if I need an underground map, I'll use a Mark one as well.

Now 4 emails to the support line and not even an acknowledgement of them recieving it.

On the site it even asks for feedback and has a tick box stating "Responce required" !!!

This app would be extreamly useful, if it was usable (and I could get hold of it!!!

Bob

I tried downloading it a few weeks ago but the content-type in the response was wrong so my phone (then a 9210, now a P800) got upset. I then tried downloading it using winwap but it said i'd already downloaded it...

I emailed the address they provided but heard not even an ACK.

Oh well. Maybe they're working on a version without a Central Line...

ho hum.

Is there anywhere i can go to get a trial for the tube map? :-?

Read the posts above and Ewans review, then go to www.thetube.com and Mobile Map should be on the bottom left of the screen, you wil need to register and then hope it will work for you.

Bob

Worked for me, I thought it was a good program but I rarely ever use the tube so have no idea how useful it would have been...

The Mobile Tube Map is now available from http://msgs.tv
I'm the author and am looking forward to receiving my Zeppelin award - hey they were a great band 😊
