I've just been to the SE booth at CeBIT and they actually update all SE phones for free.
My P800 has the latest firmware though, so they didn't update it.

They ignored all complaints and questions about their worst PC sync software ever. Pretended not knowing what I'm talking about. I'm afraid we will have to wait a LONG time before we get a DECENT sync software...
Pumatech also said their NEW symbian version (yes there is one!) is for NEC japan only and custom made and will NOT make it to the public or to other phone vendors.
Well, lets see if we all switch to the Motorola A760 or A920 if they ever become available in Europe... :-?
Forgot to mention that they delete ALL data that is on the fon. So make a backup. Great, huh? 😮

Well firmware upgrades allways meant a telephone factory reset.
That's part of the deal.
Nopain no gain, bubba.

No way! Not this lad! Motorola really is one of the crappiest manufactorers in the world IMO!

Ya, had a couple of different brands so far, Nokia, Siemens, Sony Ericsson, plain Ericsson and I never once considered Motorola phones.
Me too. Had alot of different phones from different manufactorers since -95, and the only ones I've had any serious problems with were all Motorola's...
I've tried some of the new ones too, and the build-quality is just horrible.

Hmm at work we were quite quick to get the Nokia "Matrix phone" (7110, right?) after it arrived in stores and we had to return 3 out of 4 phones within a week because of things such as the hatch not working and the scroll wheel failing.
I remember those 7110s. Probably one of the lousiest models nokia ever made.
I had one of them for 2 years and it never had a single problem! Don't think it was used in the matrix though...

Your problem with Motorola must be one of extremly few, i work as a cellular reseller and we almost never repair Motorola.
The build-quality/durability is perfect, they are compact and don't break as quickly as nokia etc.
I'm not saying that Motorola has the best solutions in their software and userfriendlyness, but when it comes to durability, there's nothing
compared to a Motorola
The Matrix phone is a custom 8110 (or the asian version with mechanic flip), not the 7110 😊

about the matrix stuff, here's an interesting link.

That doesn't really say much though. How many Motorolas do you sell compared to Nokia's and SE's?

I don't agree at all. How many of those clam-shell Motorola's have flimsy covers? - All of them.
Compare a Motorola T720 to a Samsung T100/S100 and you'll see what I'm talking about. Not only is the so called 4096 colours screen of the Motorola absolute crap compared to the Samsung, but the sturdyness of the Samsung is in a whole nother class(Samsung have the best built-quality on the market IMO).
Actually, I think the screen of The Motorola displays a pic even worse than the 256 colours screen of a T68/T300.
Not to mention the software side of the Motorolas, horrible menus, no features, slow response from the buttons etc...

Can you share with us the difference of organize R1G vs the old R1F and CDA R2A vs R1F also?
Yes please. I just upgraded my phone version 2 weeks ago, everything's the same except CDA. Mine is still R1B02
@Muzikfreakah- You know anyone by Mark Anton in Cebu?
I had one of them for 2 years and it never had a single problem! Don't think it was used in the matrix though...
thats because it wasn't the matrix phone like many said
that was the 8110 (i think)

Is he in the Cellphone business? Yes I think I know him
To be honest I don't know where the firmware difference is. I never had the old version (if it is an old version)...
Could very well be, that there are some localized changes in the firmware and the "G" is for Germany???

Yeah they nick-named it the bannana phone coz of it's shape. Back to the 7110 though, I though it was unbelievably good. Infact the only reason I got rid of mine was because of the aerial sticking out at the top. Other than that I would probably still have it now... then again...P800..hhhmmm

It looked cool.
I never saw such a smooth and futuristic design before and I probably never will.
You damn right! What's happened to Nokia!?
