I'm now firmly of the belief that anything to do with the N97 is just cursed, jinxed or just plain screwed!!
Since it was announced in September '09, the CR-116 holder has been one of the most elusive accessories EVER. But finally, retailers have started to see stock and mine has finally arrived! At last, I can mount my N97 properly in my car without bodging it into my old N95 holder!
First impressions are that it is of similar design and build quality as most other Nokia car holders. The mechanism to lock the phone in place is a little "strange" but does the trick. The reach of the holder is the biggest disappointment as it is considerably less than the HH-12 arm. However, Nokia provide a dash mounting pad so it can be mounted vertically on a flat surface.
I will be giving it a proper workout over the coming week. It would be lovely, however, if the sodding GPS worked as it should!! Still waiting for my local Nokia Service Centre to receive new antennas!!
