I have a Nokia E61, which I accidentally updated to Chinese. The Phone Powers on, but I cant read Chinese, so I have no clue what to do with it. It is the Latest Chinese software so Nokia won't let me Update. This phone is near perfect and was used for less than a month. Price is $45 shipped to the US and $50 shipped to almost anywhere else.

If you could read Chinese, you could probably switch the menu language to English.

Menu (Upper-left button) --> Tools (icon with wrench on it - middle-left) --> Settings (wrench icon again) --> General (the top item with a wrench with phone icon) --> Personalization (painter's palette icon - top choice) --> 5th choice down is Language --> 1st Choice is Phone Language (select it and scroll to English). You'll probably have to reboot the phone after that.

Then, go through the same menu sequence and choose Writing Language to switch the default writing language to English.

Did it work? Will you come back and see this post after more than a year? Not so sure. 😮P Hope it helps someone.

You are a genius. The menu options were a little different, but I managed to set it to English and it worked like a charm. Thank you very much.
