Orange PAYG GPRS

Has anybody managed to connect their P800 to the Orange Pay As You Go GPRS service?

The default settings dled from ericsson / sent from Orange aren't working at all (the default browser simply gives up, Opera at least barfs "not ready" before giving up).

Any help appreciated.

TIA

Settings worked fine for me. Just called orange and asked them to activate the GPRS (even for payg)... they send a sim update, and that's it.

Orange have to active GPRS, even if you have already added it to your package. I spent 4 hours trying stuff until I called Orange and was told that GPRS AND MMS wasn't activated although I was paying for it 😡

I hope you haven't screwed up your GPRS settings too much trying to get it working 😉

Thanks for the replies.

I had got a SIM update to enable GPRS.

Hmmm.... I have no idea why but instead of errors everything is suddenly working... presumably one of the more with-it Orange customer services people I spoke to today realised that my GPRS account had not been activated and changed it. Wished they'd mentioned it to me while I was talking to them.

Still... this phone is ****ing cool, even if Orange aren't.

😞

FWIW last msg was me being a moron - internet had started to work because the p800 was in its cradle and was using my computers connection.

Have spent the last month on phone to various Orange ppl all to no avail - they've given up 'cos the phone in not yet on payg.

For anyone trying to get this to work - your best hope is to get Orange to activate, deactivate & reactivate GPRS on your SIM - apparently this has worked for some ppl.

Just not me.
