Has anybody got this to work? When I drop the.wad file in the doom folder it can't be found on th p800
Doom on P800
In the documents folder on memory stick?....and you have Wad1 and Wad3? :-?
Despite sticking wad1 and wad3 into the documents/doom folder on the MS (i had to create the directory via pc app first) ... it still doesn't work. Got mesages about "not enough memory".
May give it another go when I have a bigger ms.
How much phone memory do yo have left?
Can anyone please lead me to the WAD files?
when i tried it it just doesnt do anytning. 6megs free internal
also got wads off shareware version off google search

You don't have to create the directory, it will be there when you install the edoom.sis file. Then simply open PC-suite and "drag and drop" both the .wad files(doom1.wad and doom3.wad) into either c:\documents\Media files\document\DOOM or d:\Media files\documents\DOOM - depending on where you installed the edoom.sis file.
I have the full version of the game (on four floppies no less) but there is no doom1.wad or doom3.wad, just a doom.wad.
I would love to get Doom working (mainly to make my mate who has an SPV jealous) but so far it starts and then just sits there with no error messages.
When you have the full version, you need to install doom.wad(NOT doom1.wad) and doom3.wad. I have the full version too and it's working just great! =)
Hi
It took me ages to find the correct doom wad files. The doom1.wad I searched for on the net and is available as authorware freely. the doom3.wad has to be from doom legacy or it will produce version conflict errors, again I found this by searching on the net.
Hope this helps!!
Looks like the DOOM directory is created by running Doom application.
Also worth mentioning that you need DOOM1.WAD version 1.9.
The combination that worked for me was.
DOOM3.WAD from Doom Legacy
DOOM1.WAD from version 1.9 downloaded and installed from TUCOWS.
It works !
Thanks for your suggestions, but it still doesn't work.
I have d/l the shareware version of Doom (as I said, I also have the full version) 1.9 and extracted doom1.wad. I also downloaded the legacy Doom wad file. This is version 1.32 (there is a version 1.4, but as far as I can tell, the data file is called legacy.dat as so I assume this isn't the correct file.
When I start Doom, I get the initial screen, I click on Doom -> Play and a window pops up with "Running DOOM..." as the title and two buttons, Stop and Resume. Then I get an error message telling me that I have the wrong version of doom3.wad.
From the research I have done, I understand that Doom for the P800 is based on Legacy Doom version 1.3, but despite looking for an hour, I cannot find this version.
Since Legacy Doom is not copyrighted, could s/o email the correct version or let me know where you got it from?

I'm answering my own post here but...
The critical thing for me was the version of doom3.wad. The P800 port appears to be V1.30 whereas the current release of Legacy Doom is 1.4.
I did eventually track the right version down in an older linux version here

At least it starts, now I have to work out how to control it.

I finally got it working, took me a while but heres how I did it:
Site to get all files Edoom.sis, doom1.wad and doom3.wad (and other free games):
http://www.i.am.sorry.nu/
you must rename the .wad files to doom1.wad and doom3.wad, they differently named to being with, fore example edoom1.wad
intall Edoom.sis and put both .wad files in the DOOM folder in the Document folder, which should be created by the Edoom.sis when installed.
