Help please....N86 - Memory Low

9 replies · 8,514 views · Started 23 December 2009

Hi,

I have an orange N86 that has been unlocked (code from orange) and de-branded to the European software (v20.115), I keep getting a "memory low, delete or move some data from C: phone memory" warning.

I have had a read around and tried all the suggested things-

- Moved messages to E drive
- Deleted everything
- reinstalled the software
- Factory resets

but still have had no joy.

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Regards
Roland

Thanks for the quick response jApi,

I am getting the message all the time, from when I turn the phone on to general use. I have 156.0kb of free memory on the C drive.

I have deleted every thing I can using filemanager and still no joy😞

The C: memory free should be 20 MB or more ! Install your apps on the E: (memorycard) instead and give C: some air . I'm using E90 and almost all my apps are on E: (16GB) without problem .
When you use a big microSDHC card like 8 or 16GB , you can go a long way before it's full . 32GB I did not find in the shops yet , but will function as well .
Buy a welknown brand like Sandisc .

I have downloaded Y-browser and deleted from the sections in the link. this has worked a little bit.

Is it wise to delete everything on the C drive then just reinstall stuff or can that so serious damage?

The save way to delete apps , is going to the icon/widget and use backspace to un-install .
Reinstall the regular way and select Memorycard . Paid apps can be a problem , you need the license from the seller to reinstall .

When you have to delete many apps , you can do a Hard Reset or the Vulcan Death Grip or a Firmware reflash as well . See my post here :

Be sure to have a Backup of all your personal data .
Then reinstall the apps , selecting Memorycard (when possible)
NB : paid for apps can be a problem , because you need the license from the seller again .

Thank you sooooo much, the Vulcan Death Grip did the trick.

Have a great Christmas
