Something we're likely to hear more of in 2010 is the 'damage' that mobile phone users who make use of the always on promise of mobile data cause on the coverage and quality of a network. Head of O2 Robin Dunne said as much in this interview on the FT. While he points ot the "unlimited" data on the iPhone (during much of 2009 O2 had the UK exclusive on this handset) with more awareness of data connectivity, expect more problems in the New Year.

This proves 3g was a flaw fom the start,,besides battery life problems the killer app was live face to face video calls yet the minute a few people watch tele in the same cell the bandwidth cannot take the strain so how the heck was all this face to face video calls going to work if their is no bandwidth..o2 allows me access about 3 times in the day else it just carrys on the scrolling ticker bar in n86 at botton of screen till the web times out..
This proves O2's data network (3G network) isn't up to scratch! T-Mobile and 3 offer the most unlimited of the unlimited data deals, and you don't hear stories of their networks crashing anywhere near as much as O2's seems to do...
I guess they spent all their network upgrade money on the iPhone exclusive deal with Apple instead.

The 'damage' was done by idiotic salesmen, who thought they could sell it like 'unlimited pizza'... people do get full, so the profits are safe...
