Nokia just launched a free 'eco' game in the Ovi Store, for its S60 5th Edition phones. 'Climate Mission' is based around a series of environmentally aware mini-games, the stated aim being to learn about important ecosystems while having fun. The game trailer is embedded below and you can download the game straight from the on-device Store.

Harmless if a bit sanctimonious but instead of fooling around trying to make OVI games store look like it's got content maybe they can find a some to fix my N97 (heard whisper of v2.1??) so that it, well works as advertised.
I know you and all the AAS team make much of multi tasking (which isn't actually a reality for any substantive programmes on N97) but having just downloaded Climate Mission when I fire it up it kills off my Nokia Messaging and Nimbuzz background processes so I can play a game provided not expecting any emails or chat buzzes, no other processes running other than those two and than music player on home screen widget but not playing tune. HAHAHAHAHAHA bit of a farce.
I see from pics looks like Nokia (as I've commented elsewhere) even have the sense/grace not to have taken/feature the N97 on their booth at CES but focusing on mini and all sparkly new N900 - this one'll work honest, see pic http://conversations.nokia.com/2010/01/07/ces-2010-kicks-off-nokia-booth-tour/#more-12949 .
So they're not showing their supposed Symbian Flagship but instead it's "junior" sibbling (which you and I know is really it's superior) which however in it's turn was slightly hobbled so as not to make it's senior partner look ridiculous - RAM not upgraded as well as NAND, only 8GB could be 16GB and only transmissive not transflective screen these could easy be there as Nokia only price it 20 less than N97"Clasic!". In turn their flagship model lineup is now a shambles as looks like they're shuffling N97 Classic under carpet, heavily pushing N900 to regular consumers (which it's not really suited for) as top end flagship and using a device (N97mini) which was deliberately hobbled as their Symbian flagship model.
Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we foreget to put some proper hardware to run our hapless software. It's becoming like a Restoration Comedy, only funny in parts but those parts are truly comical.
Go on, say what you really think 8-)
OK I will 😊
But seriously get a bit frustrated by brick wall that seems to be Nokia feedback on any issues/status/acknowledgement that all is not well. Sometimes feel like venting.
But Steve as a serious suggestion and maybe I should've PM'd it instead and hope that you or Rafe could pass this on to someone in Nokia with some vision and the ability to effect change I think Nokia should give serious consideration to recompensing/re-incentivising customers who have been affected by the N97's at the release of their next flagship. I think they should offer a 100 - 150 (don't think 50 anything like enough) trade-in discount for handing in N97's for new model, in a sort of scrapage scheme 😉 . Might ameliorate the colossal ill will Nokia have garnered over it, would reward those of us (mugs) who've hung on, might make those who got rid of them a bit regretful and should prop up second hand values a treat 😃 .
Yes gonna cost Nokia but don't think they've actually really shifted that many of them (not stuff in the channel) and as a PR excercise I think would be worth every penny and they still wouldn't have to be losing money on the handsets, a not dissimilar excercise as when Apple introduced the 3G offered to 2G purchasers. At least it would make it look as if they realise there was a problem and do know what a decent handset is meant to look like cos at the moment it sure doesn't feel that way (see comments in X6 review)

On my N97, I have to reopen this game 3 times to play it. First, I got the message that memory is full (I guess it reclaims some memory now). Second, the app freezed and force closing it via holding Menu(I guess it get frustrate with new RAM improves) . Third, play it without any problem.
My point is as a loyal Nokia customer (as many people rant here!), I felt betrayed. Nokia always give a better hardware than competitors. Just one extra stack of 128MB of RAM would be more stable. Add some extra cost, loyal customer would be fine too.
Still, I have high hopes for Nokia this year 😊 Don't let loyal customers down again.
All i can say is that if Nokia doesn't come up with a killer phone or a worthy top-of-the-line N-Series phone before end of June, i will for sure jump ship and i guess Apple will get my money, the 4th Gen will be interesting as i do believe we will be see a bigger revision this time than with the last two models.
I was looking at the N97 and almost got it, but due to so much negative press i decided to wait, and i'm happy i did it! I would definitely had regret it. At the moment the Jesus phone and HD2 seems to be the one's "doing it" for me. I love the form factor better of the N97 due to the QWERTY and touch combo, just wish the screen was some 4" capacitive AMOLED, had a 1500mAh battery, CZ 8Mpix 720P, minimum 10,2 HSDPA and loads of RAM!!! Would still buy at €700, easily!
I just hate half-assed products Nokia has released lately. It's like they give up before the product is complete, making too many compromises. It never pays to be cheap, and being cheap on your customers expense is why Nokia is where they are. I love Nokia and been with them since 1994 with my 2110, but it just too depressing to see the competition swoosh by and do nothing about it. Used to work for Nokia a while ago and boy i could tell you stories...but better not, would just make more people sad, sadly. But i guess hope dies last, so i am anxiously waiting for MWC in Feb, i hope it will be a good one and they get back on track and start delivering. Kick ass! In about a month we'll be wiser.
Sorry for sounding so negative😞
is it just me, can't find it on ovi site or device (nokia5800)
