If that's the same unbreakable phone that Dan Lane from Really Mobile had a go at with a lump hammer then I'm very surprised that the BBC guy broke it no matter what he banged it on.

True. But the CEO did claim it was unbreakable, and that he could do anything he wanted, so fair's fair....
The thing is, if you can break it like that, it makes you wonder just how robust it really is; what you really need is a phone without that pesky fragile screen thingy....

It also makes you wonder how 'accidental' it was that the beeb guy picked what is, probably, the weakest part of the phone to smack into a lot more 'unbreakable' object.
And by any stretch of the definition, 'unbreakable mobile phone' doesn't cover repeated bashings by a fully grown male into the sharpest point of an incredibly solid object. He may just as well have put it on the floor and swung the point of a pickaxe at it, full bore.

Every unit of that phone in the warehouse just became an expensive paperweight. I wonder who got fired immediately after that video went public? 😊 Sonim might as well dump them all at the nearest landfill or give them away free in India, because they will never sell a single unit to anyone who see's that video.

Maybe. However, if they claim it can survive a 10 storey fall, does that include a 10 storey fall with the phone landing screen-down on a sharp object; or is it a carefully staged 10 storey fall, with the phone being dropped in such a way that the screen is protected?. If the latter is the case, then it debatably can not claim to be guaranteed to survive a 10 storey drop.
But you're right about the pickaxe. I guess the problem is, nothing is truly unbreakable, it partly comes down to the expectation of what is really meant by ubreakable, how much you are paying for the "unbreakability" and what your comeback is if it does break....

That was fantastic, that phone is sure going to sell well! The screen has always been an issue even when they were testing rugged phones, the screen went on the gadgetshow when they were testing the JCB phone and that Samsung tough phone. Cant remember which phone though.
