For those of you who wish to get your hands on the latest Ovi Maps 3.3 prog for your N97 and can't wait for the updated frmware, v21, release on the 28th Jan, allegedely, or who have branded firmware, there is a way of installing now.

Providing, of course, you have at least 20+MB free on your C: drive for the initial installation, although once installed it only takes up 9MB.

The firmware upgrade we are told will put it in Z: drive, so not to worry when the firmware becomes available. This is just a stop gap measure.

Go to here:-

http://www.nokia.co.uk/apps-and-services/ovi-maps/downloads#/nokia-n97-mini/

and select "Or download without data charges using PC or Mac". Download the .sis file to your PC and use Nokia Installer to install it to your handset.

Now you can follow the instructions set out here:-

For those of you who have the Ovi Maps beta 3.3, you will need to upgrade to this.

You will of course need to download Voices and if you are walking you will need Street name navigation.

Saw they had released this on Thursday and downloaded the N97mini version.. Works fine but being told constantly to 'observe the speed limit' got a pain. Have to turn that off!!
