Nokia Conversations has been doing a series of 'Three favourite Nokias ever', asking the question of famous people around the Nokia ecosystem, and it's our humble site-master's turn today. The N95's inclusion was probably a given, but the other two will surprise you. Worth a read!

Wow... I like top lists... Let me give you mine.
On number 3: The E90... I used this phone for over one year... in that time used several other ones, but always came back to this baby. Great keyboard, wonderful inner screen for webbrowsing, together with a decent music app and great camera!
On number 2: SThe E71... This was the only phone that drove me away from my E90... Exept from the poor camera the phone is perfect
But the number one can only be the old Nokia 9100 Communicator... What a beast!
1- Nokia N-gage (First one)
2- Nokia N95
3- This one hasn't been born yet
6100 for pure pocketability.
6230i Nokia were at the top of their game in this class.
5800 ahead of N95 on pure value for money, functionality/cost unbeaten.
Totally agree about the 7710 - conceptually many years ahead. I now have my second 7710. Once you got used to the ergonomics, it was very easy to use. And it had an "attractive" UI.
It was actually very hard to choose 3. You could justify quite a few different handsets on a number of basis. So I tried to choose a bit of a spread / make it interesting.
1. E72 - bought 2 for great measure
2. 6700 - too damn sexy
3. N82 - just couldnt/wouldnt sell for sheer features!
Maybe you kids are too young to remeber this 😉
By 2020 I mean 2010. I had the At&t branded model, which I am pretty sure was called 2020, but when I google for the pic, something else comes up.
So let me correct myself: Nokia 2010 is the handset I have been most satisfied of all while I have been using it.
that's the real breakthrough device(even with low ram, having a mmc made all the difference, quirky keyboard that was fast still to type on).
Its gotta be:
N93
8800 (the original)
E72
I have to disagree about the 7710, I only kept mine for a short while. The UI was extremely slow, have you ever tried switching themes..? The internet was a good look but it had no 3G and was about when mobile data was really really expensive (in the UK at least).
Also the ergonomics weren't great, maybe just not my cup of tea.
The N95 was also a really great phone, very exciting at the time, but its poor construction really let it down, I went through quite a few, and from an industry perspective I've dont know anyone who hasnt had to tape the back cover on or replace it several times.
The 7610 had an amazing design, I really loved that phone alot, same goes for the N93, amazing video and camera, and a form factor with a big wow factor.
Symbian still smacks it, the best mobile OS by far, but its just a shame so many people are not inclined to look past the slightly clunky UI, and put in the very small amount of effort it requires to learn how to use it. Some one wanted to buy a iPhone in my shop the other day because she wanted something with "apps, google maps and email". When i asked her what phone she currently had, she pulled out an N85!!! says it all really
