According to the linked news , OVI Maps 3.3 comes available for the N97 by 28 Jan 2010 , after the firmwareupdate .....

It may well be for EURO1 phones, but I wonder how long us UK unbranded owners will have to wait for the update...

[EDIT] ...not to mention those who have branded handsets...

As long as you have the clear 20MB of space required on your C: drive, the N97 mini version of OVI maps will run on the N97.Not tried it, However I�ll wait for the FW upgrade late next week�.

If you look in the software update application you should find that they did release it as a standalone install for the normal N97 a few days after it went out for the mini so you can just install it normally.
Since v21 came out already no one seems to know if there will be a future FW update that includes maps preinstalled in some clever space saving fashion.
