Hey guys,
without being able to find support on Nokia forums and other resources, this seems to be last resort to obtain some info. Last year, it was supposedly said that Nokia E55 will also be released in the North Americas and Middle East. Seems there has been no release so far in these markets. Any ideas if Nokia E55 will ever be released here?
How much the unlocked Nokia E55 can be bought for in Europe, seems that is the only way to grab it since it wont be hitting the North American market ....
On that note, how are you guys finding E55? Does it still have those build issues which Rita El Khoury talked about such as paint peeling off? How is the gps performance? Does the gps (not agps) get a faster lock than n95 8gb?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In my opinion, E55 is the best unit there is so far belonging to the Eseries. I had regrets buying my E52 since it has no qwerty keypad. It would have been very comfortable surfing the net with it. Also, paint is pretty solid. It does peel off that is totally depending on use and where you usually put it like in your pocket that usually robs against the cloth.
If you're in the US, buy one through the Expansys USA site.

They will have it shipped over from their UK store. It takes about 1 week to arrive in the states, plus whatever amount of time for shipping to your city.
Love the E55. Half QWERTY takes some getting used to but having THE SMALLEST smartphone out there is well worth it.
It's so expesive on the sites you've given... At Polish auction service Allegro.pl, a new handset can be bought for about 170 E. I bought mine (sim free w/ polish/eng/german lg) in September 2009 for 240 E at allegro.pl, which is oly about two months after phone's official release. Netherlands is so expensive if it comes to this mobile!
