N97 Mini Screen Problem (Light, but no screen)

Hey everyone,

I've just got a Nokia 5800XM with a cracked screen and a Nokia N97 Mini that's undergone some water damage from a friend. He said I can keep them or do whatever I like with them if I fix them, so I thought "Why not?" 😊.

Anyway, the 5800 isn't a problem. What is a problem is this N97 Mini. I've not taken it apart yet, I've not long got it, but the screen is definitely the only problem; It turns on, holds charge, the computer recognises it as an N97 Mini when it's plugged in and it makes noises when I press buttons (to put it plainly). When it's on, I can see the light when I look to the edges of the screen, it's just the screen itself that doesn't display anything.

Does anyone know this has a common/easily fixable problem? I doubt it's the whole screen that's damaged, I'm thinking it's just the connections, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone else come across anything like this?

EDIT: And I can now confirm that the touchscreen is responding, but still no display.

Thanks for the links, but I don't know how long ago this N97 went under water damage, but I don't think too much damage was done as it still switches on fine, charges fine, can keep a connection to the PC, the keyboard and front buttons and still working and I can now confirm the touchscreen is still responsive, so I'm stumped :|.

I would dis-assemble it by now to check the connections but I can't figure out how to, and the one guide on how to dis-assemble an N97 was taken off YouTube :|.

EDIT: Ok, found out that the battery was taken off and everything was dried off as soon as it happens. I dis-assembled it and everything is working perfectly, but the screen does look a bit like it's been damaged by the water, so I may just buy a new screen, unless anyone comes up with anything else to try.
