First impressions are I like this phone alot but holy crap it's not something for the faint of heart to have.

I haven't been able to update to the newest firmware since nokia software update, ovi, and over the air all say its up do date even though it's not.

The customizations keep disappearing from my desktop, I swear this thing has a mind of it's own. I bought this after alot of reading here so none of this is a real surprise but I guess I had to see it to beleive it.

If nothing else it's very entertaining to see a company as big as Nokia having these software problems.

My mini is unlocked from Dell. On the device udates screen I have the following software info:

Software version: v10.2.020
Custom version: 10.2.020.242.01

So I'm wondering now is my phone as up to date as it could be? A couple other problems I'm having:

Putty won't resolve hostnames
Nokia Messaging Mail is a trial then has a subsciption or a one time charge? Is there a better mail program for getting pop email?

i got my new mini a couple weeks ago, and i certainly have not had anything disappearing from the homescreen. anyway i used the facebook and accuweather widget on the homescreen for the first 3 weeks, and it was cool. but then i removed them and it freed up about 12MB of RAM, so i highly recommend removing them from the homescreen. the phone runs much smoother now and it can multitask much better.

my homescreen has 2 rows of shortcuts, 1 row of favorite contacts, clock, email, and music player.
