5530 screen stuck

****SOLVED****

Today my phone stopped recognizing my mem card. Started automatically using default ringtones. I tried accessing the card and no dice. It saw it but would not access it. I shut the phone down and restarted. The phone then only left a screen with the wallpaper, time, 2 shortcuts at bottom, and thats it. When I touch any buttons, inluding power button, it tells me I need to unlock first with slider, that does not work. I pull battery and try again, still the same. I completely removed all cards (mem and sim) still the same. What do I do now. I do not want to take it to the store. I want to try other means first.

I found this for the 5800 but the key combo is not working for me:

Thanks

****SOLUTION****

OK, I got it working again. So anyone else out there that has the Nokia 5530 XM and is experiencing the screen lock condition, you have basically 3 options:

1. If it happens within the store returnpolicy, take it back for replacement, if not or they won't,

2. Take it to a NokiaCarePoint/Store/ whatever its called for a replacement or flashing/repair, or

3. Flash it your self. You will need, or at least for me, :
1. Phoenix Slayer - Nokia Service Software
2. Firmware (either google your RM# firmware or use Navifirm to download it for you)
3. cable to connect your phone to pc

Thats it. The following are links to where I got the info on flashing the phone:

-- Navifirm http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php/topic,1255.0.html

-- Phoenix http://phoenixslayer.blogspot.com/

Here is a tutuorial on how to use the Phoenix software to flash: http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php/topic,288.0.html

Hope this helps out!!!

This is the "Vulcan Death Grip" for 5800 . VDG for N97 here :
-- Hard Reset N97 / 5800

For general hard reset see my post here :

I don't know 5530's VDG , So you could try dialling *#7370# . Nokia security default code : 12345
Hope you have a Backup of your personal data - Contacts , Calandar , etc. . It might be better to do the settings manually again , to avoid any bug or corruption in the settings .

Here is the exact problem with the phone:

This is going to suck. I am in Italy, so I will probably not see my phone again for 6 months to a year if I am lucky. This is why I need to be able to do this myself.

Thx, I tried the VDG per the 5800, no go. I can't do anything with the phone, ie type in any codes or anything else not even power it off, it is COMPLETELY locked. I have to pull the battery to turn it off.

Thx

The video makes the issue 100% clear . You could try fiddling around with the hardware buttons ( until now VDG is 4 finger with ON as the last ) , in analogy to N97 and 5800 . Otherwise , ask the guys at a Nokia Care Point . They are supposed to know ?
Sorry , I wouldn't know , but curious about the solution .

Edit : Power Off , remove battery ? You will need this for VDG

Yeah, basically the phone is 100% locked out. Not even the unlock switch opens it. Just like on the vid, when using the switch it still gives the unlock message. So got to pull the bat to shut it down.
