Phone stays connected to car kit

Hi guys,

Got a problem. When I'm in the car, the phone connects and shows a little symbol of a car in the top right of the screen.... all good.

But, when I leave the car, the little icon remains there and I can't take or make calls until I re-boot the phone.

It used to work ok, but not now.

Any ideas how I can sort this?

Cheers 😊

Are you using two SIM cards (with same number) ? The car's one might take priority . In case of Bluetooth connection approx 100m will disconnect . Maybe switch off BT ?

Cheers for the suggestion. Only one sim card and I tried turning the bluetooth off and the little car icon just stays there.

I had a similar problem with an E-70 using Carkit 126. I used the cable connection and a cradle. To get the carkit icon off, I used to put the phone in and out of the cradle a few times to de-activate it. At times it worked and there were times I had to re-boot the phone.
I used this same carkit with a 6230 prior to the E-70 worked perfectly, never encountered this problem.
It maybe a glitch somewhere in the Symbian OS.

I've been having a similar problem with a Parrot MK9000 hands free kit. The phone kept staying in car kit mode. What i found was that if i turned bluetooth off when connected to kit it stayed in car kit mode. However if i turned hands free off it would correctly disconnect. Don't know if it may work for you also.

Fraid not, I've been keeping the bluetooth on and just turning the car off, which in effect is the same as turning the handsfree off.....

Thanks for the suggestion though:icon14:
