Syncing with Mac?

Hi, recently I got an N97 Mini and I'm using it for a few weeks to see how it goes. However, I'd like to transfer music and some videos to it, but I use a Mac, and unfortunately iSync only deals with Contacts and Calendars and Nokia Multimedia Transfer won't run. I can still get music on it, but with no album art.

Does anyone know of a good media transferring program for OS X?

Also, in some of the release photos for the N97 it shows a blue AccuWeather widget. Is there anyway to change the background colour or download this blue version of the widget?

Hmmm - I use NMT to transfer music and this works ok ( N97 with Macbook Pro ).

Does it not run at all , or does it fail to connect to the phone ( you can also use it in Bluetooth mode ) , make sure all the connections are valid,i.e cable connection, the phone has to be in PC Suite mode, not Media Transfer ). Have you tried a re-install of NMT? I think I had to do that to get it to work properly.

If you are running an Intel Core Duo Mac, you can run Windows also and use the Nokia PC Suite, but that is quite a long dranw out affair, having to set up Boot Camp and install Windows - and let's face it, why would you want Windows running on a Mac? 😊

Of course you can connect in Data Storage mode and simply click and drag music from iTunes onto your Mass Memory / Memory Card?

Have you had a look at Apple Discussion Fourms? There might be some other similar issues which point you to a solution with NMT.

NMT just doesn't run (starts up in the dock then shuts down again). I will try a re-install in a minute. I had Windows dual-booting for gaming, but it was a 44GB partition, and after the Vista installation I only had 11GB left for games, and seeing as I don't play em that much, I deleted it yesterday :P.

I could do it through mass storage, it just doesn't seem to carry album art over. I have a netbook I could use NMT with, it just doesn't have all my music on it, but I could use it if I must.

Yes, def try a re-install of NMT, and maybe even a re-download of it.

If you transfer via data storage mode, there is another way to get album art over onto the tracks, but it's VERY long winded, and I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

Anyway, if you have no luck with NMT, have a search on www.versiontracker.com which list a lot of Mac software - a vareity of free ware, share ware and full commercial apps. THere are some useful apps on there e.g Senuti - allows you to transfer all your music from iPod to your computer, useful when you buy a new laptop!
