[N96] - Rebuild SMS index

While using Nokia's Communication software, at a certain point it hanged and I had to terminate it.

As a result, many SMS stored in the memory card, disappeared from the phone.

I have connected the phone as a mass storage device and luckily, exploring folders contents, the messages are still there, so what I think happened is that the SMS index got corrupted.

Is there a way to force the rebuild the SMS index ?

Update: The hidden/disappeared messages are located into the [FONT="Courier New"]D:\Private\1000484b\Mail2 folder[/FONT], with some subfolders with other messages inside.

There's a file named [FONT="Courier New"]index[/FONT] and I have tried to delete it, hoping something would change, but nothing happens, the missing messages don't appear.

Could be that the index is somewhere else?
