Hi!
Yesterday I wanted to send a Valentine's Day greeting to my friends. I wrote a nice message and added 75 contacts from the phone book to the recipients' list (directly from the phone book, I didn't have a pre-made list). After giving the SEND command, the phone added first 33 messages to the Outbox (the folder that stores messages currently being sent) with a status "pending" or "on hold" or something (I don't know what's the exact English term used there as my menus are in Estonian), but did not send out any of them. Waiting didn't help and restarting the phone changed the statuses to "postponed". It was then possible to send them one by one from there, but it didn't add the remaining 42 to the Outbox even after I sent a few manually out of the way.
I then put my SIM into my second phone, a S40 5130 XpressMusic and sent the messages with it. Although it doesn't let me add more than 20 contacts at once and adding them is a lot more inconvinient than on the E66 (you've to search and select everyone, not just tick the boxes in the contacts list), I could be sure that it does send out all of them. And it did.
But still, does someone know what's the maximal limit of SMS recipients that the phone can actually handle, not just pretend it and fail? How many messages have you guys sent at once?
The problem shouldn't be in the lack of memory, as I have 43 MB free in the phone, 70 MB free on the MicroSD (messages are also stored there, although I have quite many of them - 1549 incoming, 999 sent and probably a few hundred drafts) and RAM should also be okay as I just restarted the phone before trying to send the messages; the phone didn't get any slower either. I have an E66-1 running the latest 400.21.013 firmware and it's otherwise working well. What's up?
