Camera on Standby

Hi

My N97 (RM505 0585162) keeps giving a message "camera running on Standby" - the screen comes on gives the message & goes off again. The phone has simultaneously started running down the battrey in a few hours - usually lasts 24 to 36 hours.
Anybody have an idea what the problem is and how to fix it please?

Steve

Did you
1) install an app that uses the Camera ?
2) open the Camera and then close it again ?
3) check Multitasking : Long press Home/Menu button ? When camera is exposed , terminate it with backspace .
4) reboot the phone ?
5) take battery out and restart ?
6) do a soft reset ? Dial *#7780# .
7) try Hard Reset ? Dial *#7370# . ! BACKUP is needed !
8) try Vulcan Death Grip ? ! BACKUP is needed !

This happens quite regularly to my N97.
And I'm pretty sure I know why! It is because the camera slider cover got slightly opened, enough to make it think you wanted to use the camera, but then it got closed and left for a while so it went into standby mode. It happens most times I place my phone on a flat surface, from the motion of the camera part touching whatever I put it down onto. Well thats my theory... It shouldnt move enough to open it and when I try to slide it slightly it doesnt happen so that might not be right. I looked in settings for a way to stop the camera turning on when the slider gets opened but couldnt find one, so if anyone knows a way to do that, I would love them forever and would happily let you know if that provides a solution.
