Guys, need your input on this . I just purchased nokia 5800 and updated its software to V.40,
however the vdos that came pre installed works really well, but whenever i try to convert videos (mostly in mp4 format) from nokia pc suite or Ulead (supplied in the Ovi CD) and then try to play them from real player or video centre the playback halts and i can only hear the sound but the image stucks/pauses and doesn't move.
Can u guide me how to fix this or what can possibly be the reason that preinstalled videos mp4 format works well and the videos i try to install (tho converting from the nokia software) the screen hangs ?

If playback is stuttery and it isn't an issue with the file that's being played back then perhaps it's a memory problem.
Press:
menu >apps > file manager
to read how much memory you have free. My C memory is showing 31.4MB. If you have something less than 10, perhaps this is worth investigating (there's a page on this site about increasing free memory. Make sure to read whole page before starting to delete things!).

Thanks for your early response, the site u referred is very useful thankyou. as it mentioned that u can convert videos exactly like the one pre installed (BATMAN). like i said , batman and other preinstalled video work just fine but most (not all) videos that are converted from other softwares have a stuttery playback. and i checked my phone memory its more than 50mb. so i think the issue lies in the converting software ..let me give it a try and update u ..

the problem you are facing is the same i came across...and i too get the playback video pauses only after I upgraded the firmware to v40.
Now all the videos that I could watch perfectly without any problems on earlier firmwares cannot be viewed.
i dont know if you tried using other converters as mentioned by JJ, but please update me if it was a successful in repairin the mention prblem.
