Is this normal in 5800 ?

Guys, need your input on this ..

The battery of my recently purchased nokia 5800 , just lasts me 24hours a day, if i'm lucky .. with few minutes of music (on headphones) and maximum 5-6 pics taken .. before purchasing i was expecting it would last me atleast 2 days, as i've disabled vibration (touch), decreased standy (30secs) i was hoping it should do more than just 20-22 hours from full charge.

Is this normal ? the stock battery is " Made in china " should i get it replaced or everyone has the same chineese manufactured battery ? Need your early advice .

thankx

My 5800 battery says:

CELL MADE IN KOREA
FURTHER PROCESSED IN CHINA

It says 1320mAh on it too, along with all the usual writing and nokia branding. I imagine they could have official batteries from China also.

My battery life is 2-3 days of use similar to yours. Things depend on weakness of signal and what's running on the phone. This may seem obvious, but if you've not done it already, press and hold that middle (white led) button to see if anything other than the usual two app logos (menu and home) are there. Also if wi-fi is on (wee tower logo in top right) that drains things.

I suppose if you're at school / uni, you could charge the battery up full and head to the IT or engineering dept where they can touch the terminals to a meter (an ampmeter?) thing to see if the charge is somewhere near 1320mAh.

Where did you get the phone? If you can't take it in for a swap, ebay has a good few cheap battery options - perhaps with higher than original capacity.

so you are not making any calls or texts at all? list your exact usage so someone can compare to their usage. but no, 6 pics and a few minutes of music means the phone would last 3 days most likely if that's all you are doing.

along with my previous statement, i forgot to mention that i was on the phone gaming for almost 30mins a day and talking 25mins daily, but still i think for a battery to run just a day for such an expensive phone, there has got to be something wrong.

Battery:
BL-5J 1320mAh 3.7V 4.9Wh
MADE IN CHINA
(with 26 numerics displaying above "MADE IN CHINA" )

however i changed a few settings and let me share those with u so u could finally judge if the phone and its battery are ok and upto their mark

1. I reduced the backlight light sensor to the minumum, although not so bright but i can make out whats displaying. (duno if that'l work under direct sunlight )

2. iv decreseased the touch vibration (level 1)

3. My wi-fi stays on all the time (home network) to recieve emails n stuff

5. Iv disabled 3G and selected GSM (2G) because i dont make video calls, and for the net i have wi-fi on all the time

So its been 24 hours exactly at the time of this writing and im down with just one brick , so i think its good .. but IF you are to disable so many functions (3G)mainly, and reduce the vibration, light sensor, disable sensors on alarm/silence ... i mean whats the point ? Isn't this phone supposed to do all this and still last a decent amount of time ?

With the gaming and the wi-fi, the battery life sounds normal. Here's something to save a wee bit power: you can set your email to check every 5 mins or hourly or whatever but not have wi-fi on permanently.

Hmm.. ok if u guys say so ,,, btw m getting used to thse settings. Its lasting me almost days n 1 nite now 😊

Thanks for the help..

Cheers
