I have been using the new skype native client on my n97 mini since it came out last week. I originally installed it on my mass storage but it kept disappearing from my home page (widget).
I moved it to C after it did this a few times and it's been fine since. Is this what I've read about when people refer to apps that must be on C to work?
Jeff
It has a widget? Mine didn't come with a widget :frown:
zxon,
It doesn't always show when you go to add it to the home page. Try re-installing it and I bet it will be there. That is what led me to install it on C drive instead of E as it not only disappeared from the home page but also from the menu to add it back.
Jeff
No "widget" with my Skype either.
Do you mean "icon" jmurch?
I guess maybe it's an icon but I thought icon was referring to the items that can be added to a shortcut and are 4 across in a shortcut bar?
What I am referring to for 'widget' is an active item that is the full width of the sceen and shows active status like pending chats, online status, etc.
I'm new to this phone so maybe I'm not up to speed yet on exactly the correct terminology.
Jeff
It is a widget that comes with the latest version of Skype!
Well spotted jmurch. :icon14:
Hey it's appeared on my homescreen content list. It's a widget, alright! It must've appeared for me when I upgraded to v21. Let's see what this is like then...
[EDIT] Ok it would look better if I had a photo on my skype account 🙄 Also it seems to have a wee problem with my wallpaper. I have 7 that change every 10 minutes but it's adopted the background from only one of them. Plus, the text is white, which doesn't seem to work when I have any wallpapers set at all.
zxon,
Mine uses a pic local to the phone as i didnt want a ? showing in the widget. Mine is an AZ flag (im in AZ duh). It also seems to have no trouble with the theme background I am using the NewBlack5th and it works great. Maybe wallpaper works differently for background than themes?
