do you know that US is an oil producing country also? Texas!
point number 1: have an open mind, people tearing off Saddam's posters and people celebrating doesn't reflect the will of the people to the coalition's invasion. All countries have oppressed people and the oppressed people will celebrate wnehnever a ruler is deposed whether the ruler is benevolent or evil. Its also a possibility that a snake was deposed only for a bigger snake to come in.
point number 2: It would be wise to look at history to learn more about the so-called superpower's intention. The United States supported the rule of the Strongman Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines for 20 years despite countless abuses and violations of human rights, why? because they benefit from their relationship with the Strongman. Who'll prevent the 'superpower' from putting another puppet in Iraq so they can benefit from that relationship? The UN? The coalition has proven the UN to be impotent when they invade Iraq without the UN's nod. What's to prevent them from invading another country?
point number 3: Why would the United States and British troops invade a country at the cost of billions of dollars in aid, military budget as well as the money that they are giving different nations like Turkey, Israel, even the Philippines for supporting the coalition? The ammount is staggering, not to mention the lives of their troops. Why? For the peace of mankind? 😉 We all know from history why US troops went to Vietnam, it is because of economic reasons. (read your history for confirmation, there's even a quote from the US President then addressing the US Congress to support the war and fighting Communism was only the minor reason) This time they say they are fighting terrorism when they couldn't even provide a substantial proof of Saddam's connection to Al-Qaeda with all the resources at their disposal.
point number 4:
Oil is important alright... but it isn't the only thing that can make a country rich! Look at Japan and Taiwan! They have the highest GNP and they're not even oil producing countries!!! So, I disagree to people who say oil is the only motive of america...
Sorry but this is a fallacious argument. It's not the only thing to make a country rich that's true, but that's no reason to disagree to the point that oil is a motive. In fact anything of economic value that can be salvaged in case of an invasion could be a motive. Much more so oil, also popularly known as "black gold".
point number 5:
I think as long as the US is a superpower which all of us should continue to prayI agree with you on this one. This is in the interest of peace. But being cops and having the largest gun doesn't mean you can police everybody for your own interest. The US should be reminded of that. Most governments has their system of checks and balances. So the power would not be monopolized by a sector. We all know that absolute power corrupts absolutely, who's going to check the US's power, the UN? look how Bush ignored the UN... We need another power to check the US' power, Viva le France anyone? 😃 and Germany? 😃
Anyways don't think of me as being biased whether religious or social or whatever, I'm a Roman Catholic, and on the above-average income bracket in case your wondering. It is through research that I was able to formulate my opinion on the matter. Let's all have an open mind. I myself will change my mind if the coalition's troops leave Iraq as soon as an election is through and a new government is installed popularly elected of course. I hope that Blair's "not a day more than necessary" doesn't last that long. I really do hope for the sake of mankind for if they control the 2nd largest oil producing country in the world, what would be next in their eyes? 😃
P.S. Time to stop being serious, hello to all the Filipinos out there... 😃
