I have just encountered a new issue with my N97.
When the v2.1 update was release a few weeks ago i did a hard reset and also formatted the mass memory as i was having a few other problems which i wanted to try and fix.
So i updated things were going fine for a few weeks up until recently on my home screen the Nokia Messaging Widget goes blank and does nothing when activating it. The program is running fine in the background however.
If i turn the phone off and back on again the widget returns but not for very long.
Has anyone encountered this issue or got any suggestions? I uninstalled the software and re-installed it hoping to fix the issue but no luck.
I am using the newest nokia messaging 10.2
thanks
Craig
If anyone is interested it seems the Accuweather widget was causing the problem. I have stopped using it and the problem seems to have gone away
That darn Accuweather!
I dont have any widgets running on my homescreen , apart form the Music widget, but that isn't 'online' so doesn't really interfere with anything else. I do like the idea of having live widgets running, but to be honest, don't reallyt need them. I know what the weather is going to be - sunny and hot. I have email set up on Messaging, so can access them that way, or via the web browser.
The Skype widget doesn't give me what I want, so don't use that.
I can't actually think of a live widget that I would class as essential, so tend to have contact and app shortcuts on the homescreen.

mine is the same.. Saves battery power.. Everything is easy accessable anyway.
I cant get that accuweather to work lol
I hate to say it.... but i don't have a problem with AccuWeather.
It's running quite nicely on my home screen and updates my Current Location weather regularly. If there is a problem with my default Current Location it goes to the next saved location in the list.
It also plays nicely with my other widgets too. 😊
