hi. i used the original windows live messenger daily on my n97. but yesterday i formatted everything and updated to 2.1 and i can't find an appropriate installer for wlm. can someone help me on this? the installer i've found keeps telling me at the end of the installation process that "installation cancelled"

Yes, is is indeed the official file, extracted from N97.

i can't install it. just at the end of the installation, it says installation cancelled. any help?
try reinstalling it on your n97, visit nokia 5800 apps for the application! I know its a blog for 5800 apps but there both s60 mobiles so it will work. hope this helps 😊

Sounds to me like you could be being impatient & pressing keys, thus inadvertently cancelling the install.
Installation takes aaaaaaages & at one point looks like it's done when it isn't.
Just bear with it & it should finish.
actually i send the setp\up to my phone via BT and it did not install. so i use nokia installer and it worked. don't know what he problem was 😞
