Reset Phone from Operator to Generic? — Nokia Numbered S60 5.0 (Nokia 5800, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5530)

Hi all,

I've been google searching all night with no luck. I recently bought a Nokia 5230 from T-Mobile, and bought another for my wife from Carphone Warehouse. My phone is all T-Mobile branded, which is annoying enough, but it also missing several functions / applications (e.g. SW Update). My wife's phone is not.

I basically want to remove everything on my phone and get it generic / unbranded like my wife's. Is there any way to accomplish this?

I've tried resetting the phone, and reinstalling the software via Ovi Suite with no luck.

To unlock your phone , just contact T-Mobile for the code . It will be around �20 .
Then get the right productcode for your 5800 . Follow the steps as described here for an E90 - BTW : different codes of course !

Further to Japi nl's advice, here are the product codes for the 5800, just to show you how it breaks down by region and handset colour. As Japi says, you'll need to find the equivalent for your 5230.
