I just purchased E71. I tried to copy and paste using the instructions that I read about in the manual. I cannot seem to copy from a web site. Is it possible?? For example, if I am trying to copy and paste text from a news article on line in NY Times. Is it possible?? What kinds a text can you copy and paste?? What situations is it not possible to copy and paste text??

On Symbian devices you can only copy and paste text that is editable. This is unlike the iPhone implementation where you can copy and paste anything.
