Alter the way to search contacts

I think the way you search contacts on the 5800 is annoying and time comsuming.

The problem is the letters are scattered over two pages and appear at different locations depending on the name you are typing. Which means i have to actively search for the letters.

Is there any way to use the alfanumeric layout or maybe QWERTY instead? So that the letter position will be fixed?

I hope this question makes sence. If not, then please help me make it clearer.

I agree, it would be nice if you could just type in the string you are looking for. Doesn't matter first name or last name or note text, it would go look for it.

I think this is one of those cases that reviewers talk about when they complain about the inconsistent interface that S60 presents. It does seem rather arbitrarily put together without any real oversight from the top to make things work consistently.
