We have an Asterisk PBX in use and we need to record our calls with customers. Incoming calls are no problems because customers phone us to Asterisk number which in turn calls all of our mobiles and Asterisk records calls as a middle man.
The problem is that when I need to place a call to a customer while on the go, I need to dial special number where Asterisk answers and asks me to punch in customers phone number. While this works, it's very tedious and cumbersome to first look up the number from phonebook, memorize it, dial asterisk number, punch in the number only to hear busy tone and start all over... 😞
What I'd like is a small Symbian alternative phonebook app which dials in to my Asterisk and passes the selected phone number.
How would I go about developing such app? Where to start?
