I suggest doing a manual scan for networks - you will probably see other operators 3G networks show up to prove the phone is ok. Then it's on to your (completely useless and unhelpful) operators helpdesk to report the problem. Note I don't know who your operator is - but from experience they are all useless.

thanks for replying rang vodaphone uptoday and they cant work it out so sendin me new phone monday., the hard reset didnt work nor did the the roaming search.
