If there are any F1 fans here, there is a superb free official Formula 1 app for the N97 availble for download at http://mobile.formula1.com/

Just visit the link on your N97's browser and choose to install the app.

Features:

- Countdown to race
- Qualifying times
- Live timings during race/qualifying
- Race details
- Current standings.

Thanks.
Looks like a great app. But i cant get the connection to work. Did register an account but it wont sign in.
3G connection not available it says when the 3G is up and running on the phone.
Anywone have the solution?

And i cant find the exit button, so i have to shut it down via taskman everytime.

Connection works ok on mine - I agree about the exit button - anyone found it yet? 😊

Sadly can't login either (connection failure) and glad iit wasn't just me with the exit button :con?

I downloaded the .jad application from the official site but when i try to intall it I receive a message saying that some elements are missing. I am a 5800 owner. Has anyone else the same problem?

@GremlinUK

Great find - I didn't register when/after installing app as have been reg'd at F1 site for number of years but it wouldn't recognise my id/pswd. Did work on the "try" vesion for me let's hop ethey fix the log in before next race. And it's a bit more interesting

This morning I received an important mail regarding that. It won't work with your current registration so you need to re-register.

Neil

Thanks to the power of Twitter I have the answer to the "exit" problem

Just press the red button on the handset to quit the app 😊

so you are saying that i should delete my existing accound and create a new one? Or do i have to mail them about the connection problem first.

Finally an exit button😃

Just to let you know, there will be improvements made to this app over the course of this season so keep checking back on the mobile site for newer downloads.

I will try and keep you updated 😊

what do u exactly meen with re-register? Deleting my old account and then creating a new one? In that case, how do i delete my account?

I cant register a new one with the same e-mail address. I only have one address and would like to use it on this app.:con?

Well, I actually did it this afternoon after I got back from an interview.

I simply pressed the register button on the app - used my email address and set a password.

I then received an email with a link and clicked on it.

No complaints about my address already being registered, no faffing with de-registering any previous registration - its just done.

By the way, signing in afterwards is a bit of a faff - but it does work.

Hi guys,

I went to re-download the official F1 timing app for my Nokia N97 this morning, and noticed there's a new version of it, its gone from v1.00 to v1.05. I installed and overwrote the existing one without uninstalling first, and it worked great.

Only had a quick look at it this morning before work, but one thing I noticed is that it now allows you to choose your local time or race local time on the session timetables. Apart form that not noticed anything else yet.
