I have a strange problem with iplayer - when I launch it now (after it seemed to insist on being re-installed), I get a black screen for absolutely ages before the app gets going. It's only just happened, so I'll check again a few more times, but I thought I'd just mention it in case anyone else has had the same scare.
I also had this problem on my 5800, it seemed to happen after I upgraded to v40 of the software. To solve it I un-installed it, deleted the install file then went to m.bbc.co.uk/iplayer and downloaded and installed the latest version (may have been the same as previous version but not sure), it's been fine since then.

Yes I saw this on a previous version too. Generally if things are screwy after an update I recommend a reinstall as the first thing to do. You can generally get away with writing the new install over the top of the old one.
