as is documented, closing the flip, normally saves and exits applications etc., except one - ending a telephone call. You need to press END.
Why ?
closing the flip - end of operation - or is it ?
Opening and closing the flip activates and deactivates the speakerphone.
What if you are using virtual flip? I cant find anywhere in the instructions that tells me how I can use the speakerphone when in virtual flip mode?
Press the Volume icon(down right) while in the call, there will be an extra option to check,"Speaker Phone"..

The virtual flip works the same way as the real flip, opening and closing it activates the speakerphone.
Guys, how about my question on why the phone call is not ended/cut by closing the flip ? Any reason ?
WHat does the speakerphone does, why can't I hear anything even when I activate it.
Like I said, closing the flip is used to deactivate the speakerphone not end the call.

This is old news.
SE choose not to make the flip "active" in that it does not answer phone calls when you open the flip and it doesn't end phone calls when closing it.
The reason for this is because, as stated above, SE rather wanted other functionality such as speaker phone activation to be associated with the action "open flip" and "close flip".
However, I and many more with me think that there should be an option to set so as to allow for the users that wants to to activate an "active flip" mode whereby the P800 would answer and shutdown phone calls by opening and closing the flip.
This is something that SE has neglected this far and it's not likely this is a high priority for the company but it could theoretically be fixed in a firmware update sometime in the future.
I can't actually see why you'd want the flip to take or end a call though... why would you??
Just got a P800 and this is one of the most annoying / confusing things - just answering / ending a call.
Why they didn't have an "active flip" option, or even a green / red phone buttons I have no idea.
Also, when I am on a call with the flip open, your face touches the screen meaning you end up dleting a meeting or something similar without realising.
Flip answering has been hyped ever since matrix.. I'm guessing that once Reloaded is out we will have a lot of those requests. 😉
The main reason that the flip is not "active" is that if you open it, it will be in the way of the sound, since the microphone is placed almost on the back of the phone and there is no microphone on the flip itself like on the t28 and others.
