I've searched the manual and the forum for this, but can't find anything (although I seem to remeber this being discussed before).
I used the handsfree headphones to make a call in the car for the first time last night, but couldn't hear anything at the default volume. In fact, I didn't think the call had connected. It was only when I stopped, that I realised the call had gone through (and I was being charged for it!).
Obviously, I can't adjust the volume with the jog dial whilst driving (it's illegal and defeats the purpose of handsfree). So, is there a way to preset the handsfree volume?
Is it illegal? You dont really have to look at the phone when you adjust the volume, you can just turn the speed dial with your fingers andl listen as the volume adjusts.
One other un-illegal thing you could do is set the volume before you ride the car. You should test it first and try to check what your average volume would be when the speakerphone is on so all you have to is remember that and set it before you ride that car.
Far our solution is to get a bluetooth headset 😊 Thats if its not illegal to adjust the volume on the headset as well 😊
Yes, but how do I set the volume before I get in the car? The section on handsfree in the manual doesn't mention anything, and the section on volume control only mentions changing the volume during a call with the Jog Dial.
Is the handsfree volume affected by the multimedia volume?
And, I'm afraid, in the Isle of Man, it has been illegal for some time to do pretty much anything with your hands other than drive the car. It is all covered as part of "driving without due care" and comes with a �1000 (US$1500) fine plus penalty points on your license.
You can set the handsfree volume in:
Phone, Edit, Preferences, Sounds and Alerts.

I hope so, 'cause I had that set to near maximum and, as I say, I couldn't hear anything!
I think the multimedia volume is the same as the handsfree volume.. Ill check in the morning bec my handsfree is in the car.. Im tucked in bed already 😊
