Does premium allow u to use it on another fone or with a nother sim?

Say i got premium on my n97 then... Next year got a new fone... And wanted it on that would i have to pay again?

Yes , it allows me to transfer the licence to different sim cards. When I return back to UK every few months, I pop in my Orange PAYG sim, and when I boot up Joikuspot, it asks me if I want to transfer the licence to my new sim, which it does pretty easily.

I also have Premium edition, but have found that the Lite version will do everything I need to ( web mail, internet banking ) IF running on my Mac.

If on Windows, I deffo need the Premium version. Overall, I think its a fantastic app, and wouldnt be without it.

You're welcome.

No, haven't tried it on another device, only on the N97. I did have it running on my N95 but that another bought copy which had been paid for prior to me buying the N97 - didn't manage to transfer the 'licence' across, but didn't try to, just paid for it again as I like so much!

Right.. Ive bought it but when i turn it on non of my devices are finding the connection... Another mobile.. My psp or the laptop. How do i set it so it can be found?

When i had the free one it was ok now its paid for and i downloaded the update it told me to it wont work... As in when i do a wifi search it wont ppick up

hmm, that's odd.

When you first fire it up, it asks you if you want to aloow sharing with external devices, AFAIK, you must select 'Yes' otherwise it won't start. Once started, the connection creates it's own SSID, something like J2789, and generates it's own WEP password.

So when it's running and you scan from the other devices, do they pick up any SSID that looks like that? As it now the Premium version, it may have created a new ID which was different to the Lite version?

nope.. Nothing else will pick it up.. I now have 2 accounts that wont work both premium

the first one was version 2.40... After a bit of searching i found out that that version (which is preinstalled in my n97) had troubles anyway... So i downloaded 2.60 and im having the same problem... On the fone it says its connected.. As in its now a wifi hotspot... But when i search for it using other devices its not showing up as an available hotspot... Yet others that arnt mine are

Not sure what else to suggest apart from checking the Settings Menu.

Start Joikuspot, click yes when asked to allow sharing with other devices, then JSport starts. Now press Options and Stop.

Once it's stopped, then go to Options and select ' Settings'. These are the settings I have:

Network Name: JXXXX
Access Point: Internet Connection
802.11 Channel: Automatic
Encryption: WEP Open
Encryption Key Type: ASCII
Encryption Key Length: 64-bit
Encryption Key: XXXXX
Battery Threshhold: Lowest point
Landing Page: No
GPS Positioning: No
Factory Settings: Blank

Hope you get it sorted.

mines same dude apart from mine dust say GPS positioning...

thanks mate, but it might be my fone?.. got latest firmware so dont know why it wont work

You may be right, it could be your handset. I've had it running without a problem from FW ver10 when I first got the phone last June.

Have you had a look at Joikuspot support pages, maybe they have an email address you can contact, but Im sure you've already thought of that! I feel disappointed for you, as I've used it - and use it daily - without a problem.

After a little more research it looks like ive wasted my money.... Twice...

The joikuspot software uses wifi ad hoc not wifi infrastructure which explains why my psp wont pic it up nor will my misses fone as they only use infrastructure and sony have a block on other devices using the ad hoc apart from psp to psp 😞

still that dusnt explain why it dusnt work on my laptop... hmm... I sent them an email yesterday so just hope i can get it sorted or get a refund...

Thankls for ya help anyway dude 😊
