I cant send files to my PC from my phone VIA Bluetooth! Well I mean Pictures particularly. I cant remember If I tried but here are the current things I can do:

1.) I can send and rcv files(pics and tones) via BT to the N3650.
2.) I can syncrnze to thte PC via bluetooth, although I have to go to the usual process of trying to connect to com port, then I get rejected then the Phone connection link shows some activity and im there.
3.) I can connect to my busted HBH-30.

I cant remember if Ive tried it before, its been a busy two weeks for me testing two phones, my P8 and my gf's N36...

All I kniw us the 3650 can send and rcv files via BT to the PC, but I can't..

Anyway, HELP!

(Im surprise that theres a chopper flyingover my house as of the moment.. must be something to with the war going on, dang..) 😃

does that mean that the helicopter pilot has to lift you up if he looks at you?

😃

Dude - describe exactly how you are doing it after you connect the com port and ill try mine.

Well, when transfering files there is suppose to be no need to even try to connect the com port.

PC > Phone
-Just right click on the file> send as> Bluetooth> then it searches for nearby bluetooth devices and if they were previously paired then thats it, all you have to do is click on the yes on the P800 and it should get the file.

Phone > PC
Go to the Picture > Send as> Bluetooth (Make sure your BT is on) > Then it will search for BT devices (paired and un paired) If paired then you should have that pop up on your PC screen which says, would you like to accept file? Then click yes the voila! If it unpared it will ask you to pair it, then do the process again and it will transfer the file.

I have dont this with the 3650, both ways and it works.
On the P800 Phone to PC I get " Transfer failed" Same for PC to phone.

Just for testing sake, I tried the whole Comport phenomenon and itcoudlnt connect but the phone connector did but I still couldnt tranfer files via BT.

Well, ive just tried it both ways and it worked.

I sent a 99kb 640x480 jpg from the phone to the pc, the pc prompted whether to receive or not then it came.

I tried the other way, using Send To -> Bluetooth -> P800 and it didn't work, tried Send To -> Bluetooth -> Other, chose the p800 and it did work.

I am running 1.3.2.7 widdcomm software on a dlink dbt-120.

I did have the com port connected but as you said I don't think it's relevant.

I've got the same problem, i get the "failed to transfer" error when sending from P800 to pc, and my PC doesn't even detect the P800 when you choose send to - bluetooth - ect...

I've mentioned this problem a few times on this forum but I don't think anybody knows the cause or solution!

I think it must be something to do with the pc bluetooth software...

This may help Slayorrrrrrrrrr:

Andy.

cheers andy, i'll have a butchers through those 8 (!) pages and see if anything works. I had heard about the acceptother thing but my software doesn't have that key..still i'll try adding it and let you know the results...

.... gulp!

Nah still doesn't work. added the acceptother key to the local_machine and current_user but still no luck. I noticed that i can send contacts via bluetooth but not pics or sound files.

I haven't downloaded the latest drivers yet but i'm unsure as to whether I can use the Widdcomm drivers. I'm using a Belkin dongle, which I think is supported by the widdcomm software.. can you ( or anyone ) confirm! If it is compatible do you know where I can find the latest software?

I've had a fun afternoon with bluetooth. I was running (quite happily) on the 1.2.2.16 tecom drivers, but after following someones advice, I finally got around to upgrading to 1.3.2.7 They seem to be working well so far, (but then again, 1.2.2.16 worked well)

Probably the best place to have a look to see if your dongle supports a different set of drivers is on the esato technical forum. There is a thread where someone explains how to upgrade. I couldn't make much sense of the instructions, but the download locations seemed to work, so try picking them up from there. Here is the thread:

I've just installed the Anycom version of the widcomm software - didnt muck about with the TDK stuff, infact i'm not sure why the guy suggests that you install the anycom, the bugger about with the TDK. Anyone got any ideas? I can confirm that that allows me to send pictures from my p800 to computer. YOu have to have the PIM Item Transfer service running.

Anyway, hope this helps

Do you mean you have no problem transfering pics and tones to and from your phone?

I had a prob installing actusb.exe. It said something about data cab1 and and unexpected end of archive! Sound familiar?

Sounds like you've got a corrupt download. I'd try and get it again, maybe from a different link.

Muzikfreakah, yes I can send images and sounds to and from my P800 over bluetooth.

Andy

Right, well i think i'll be waiting for an more guaranteed way of getting it to work... because having installed all that stuff to the letter, my PC proceeded to fcuk up completely! The sound went crazy and the dongle wasn't recognised at all..

Thankfully i did a backup before I attempted it. I think it's a case ( at least in my case ) to wait for Belkin themselves to release an update...

I can do it now too! 😊 Thanks too the new drivers 😊 Thanks for the links also Andy!

Right i'm convinced i'm doing something wrong now if so many people have got it to work. Andy can you tell me how 'you' did it... coz the instructions on that forum confused me a little... cheers

Okey dokey slayorrrr.....

I'm using winXP, so this is what I did... Right click on My Computer, Properties, Device Manager. find the USB dongle and uninstall it. Remove the dongle from your PC.

Go to Control Panel, select Add/Remove programs. Find your current Dongle software and uninstall it.

Reboot

Exract the ACBTUSB.EXE into a folder. Run the Setup.exe that you extract.

Once setup has completed, plug the dongle into your usb port. XP reports new hardware found, when it asks for a driver, select "Do not search" and choose the driver yourself.... Browse to the folder that you extracted ACBTUSB to and choose the btwusb.inf

That should be it.

Good luck, and hope this helps.

Andy.

ok thanks for that andy, unfortunately im away for the weekend so i'll have to let u know how it goes on sunday... i'm sending this from my p800... first time i've used it on this forum, looks good.. anyway cheers mate!
