e90 vs e71

Hi all,

I am using nokia communicator since 2005 and my first communicator was 9300i. then i have replaced it with e90 and still using e90. at the moment i am thinking of replaced it with another enterprise phone. the strongest candidate is e72. i went to shop last weekend and investigated the e72.

the reasons why i want to change e90:
1- form factor. it's big and heavy
2- processor 300 mhz (ish)
3- small memory and ram
4- support up to 4gb external sd
5- limited 3rd party software
6- cant charge through usb

why e72:
1- good form factor
2- processor 600 mhz (ish)
3- bigger internal memory and ram comparing to e90
4- longer battery life
5- can charge through usb
6- supports up to 16gb sd

why not e72:
1- high SAR value
2- small screen
3- small keypad
4- need to pay 100-150 quid for part-exchange
5- not a big difference in software

need your comments.
thanks

E72 and E90 both have 128 megabytes of ram.
Have you tried a bigger memory card than 4gb? The n82 supports up to 16(at least) and they both run the same hardware.

I'd like the e72 inside the e90s form factor. Or better yet, a snapdragon processor.

1) Formfactor :
A) not to heavy for what you get
B) single hand , two hand use and very comfortable table use
2) 333 Mhz , fast enough for webbrowsing with Opera Mini (4.2)
3) lots of third party software : almost all S60 v3 , and sometimes even older applications work on E90
4) Memory :
A) still have 73 MB RAM to use with many Apps installed . The C: drive 103 MB free . Counted : 58 Apps and 44 Themes , mainly on memorycard installed .
B) E90 does not have any problem using a Sandisk 8 GB class 2 card . Also a Kinston 16 GB class 4 is reported to be used without caveats . My Sandisk 16 GB class 2 card crashed though after two weeks .
5) More ? : good stereo loadspeakers ; two , inner + outer screens ; also usefull in sunlight ; overwhelming key choice ; rock solid ; good GPS reception also without network assistance ;
6) Cons : miniUSB instead of microUSB ; no video-out ;
door to door Navigation E10 a year .

In my book mini usb is better than micro usb. Easier to insert the cable and everyone has a mini usb cable of some sort.

Micro usb cables are less common. Only advantage is the size of the port.(Which isn't really an issue on the e90).

Lack of usb charging is a bummer though.

I noticed Display Resolution of E90 is 800x352px and E71 has 320x240px. But it is not big issue for E71. E71 is also compatible with HSDPA 850 networks.
I have nokia E90 and i love it.
