Ewan girds his sporran and risks valuable C: disk space to install the latest Qt runtime and Nokia's in-beta Wordpress client. For all its unfinished nature, this seems to be one client that reeks of quality and possibilities - if you run a Wordpress blog then keep your eyes peeled on this new way of managing your content from a touch-based Symbian smartphone.

Very nice!

With wordpress, basically anyone could make a blog - even a decent looking site, all in relatively quick time, with no major requirement of webdesigning. A friend does professional webdesigning on the side, and this is one of his main tool. Obviously unless you spend a bit time, the site will look very - wordpressy. Though once you master the basics, it is infinitely more powerful.

While this is by no means a replacement of laptops in most of times, simply because building a decent wordpress site is really resource demanding, as with building any site - with need for webpage setup, domain management, content sourcing, photoshopping, CSS editing, etc - those you just cannot do effectively on a phone - and are even time consuming on laptops. Not to mention doing all those on 3G network, is asking for trouble.

Then again, if the site is already built, this is definitely good one for any mobile bloggers, who need to add live posts, and cannot take a laptop with them - a big step forward in mobile usability. Dunno about the network usage though, could be quite demanding. 😊

Not regret getting my second i8910. 😊

I run several websites that I have put together for clubs that are all Wordpress, not blogs - websites. It takes about half a day to put togther a really decent looking website with virtually no coding. Start with Wordpress, pick a theme, fiddle it about, add content done. There are plugins and widgets for virtually anything - even ecommerce.

But to the point, the reason I have an iPhone is because the brilliant Wordpress app allows me to respond quickly to requests to change things on the site. Now there is one less reason to use the iPhone.

I'm using the X6 too and am quite happy to post to my WP blog using Wordmobi.

Excellent news. Thanks for the article.
How can I find a list of compatible devices. I use an E71 and would like very much to install this program.

Thanks

There is a Qt v4.06.2 installer out on the web which can be installed to any drive so I think you could install qt to e: (like i have) and see if it powers apps on c:.

hey, this is a very nice app, but i found some bugs in my nokia 5530. When i use ur app, it keeps on asking me what connections to choose, and i need to press the button for at least 20 times. Is it a bug? Or is it due to the problem of chinese display(i am a chinese and use chinese)? Sorry for my poor english...

I've been using Wordmobi for ages now, for the exactly same purpose. You can edit, add, insert, moderate and everything. It's in python though...
