Hello all
I have had my N97 for a month or so now and realise I was fortunate to be joining late in the game as the firmware has improved recently it would seem.
It is a good device and am impressed with it's features although the ui is a little dated when comparing to other devices and apps are very limited it would seem and far too expensive! 8 for adobe reader is completely ridiculous!
However I am trying to find a solution for a problem I have and am hoping you guys may be able to help, so here goes...
Audiobooks, I need to be able to play them and have the player remember it's playback position. I notice the native music player can do this when playing podcasts but when I transfer an mp3 to the podcasts directory it doesn't show up.
any ideas?

I think you might also need to update the meta data on the track to "Podcast" or "Audiobook" but I don't remember which. I had to do this in iTunes when I downloaded a load of ripped audio books from my PC to my iPhone.
Did you refresh the library after copying the audiobooks to podcasts directory?
You will definitely need to do that. I've listened to 20+ audiobooks on my N97 in the past six months (long commute) and have not had any problems.
If you use audiobooks that are acquired anywhere other than Audible.com (such as librivox.org) then the id3 info might not be consistent and the book chapters can be played in the wrong order. I recommend ID3-TagIT or MP3Tag to fix them.
Happy listening!
