n97 mini connection management

I'm hoping that an N97 or Mini owner can tell me if this can work or it won't work and I have to live with it.

I have 4 main apps that I use that require an Internet connection. Nokia messaging, Skyfire, Fring, and Gravity. The destination for all 4 is Internet with Wifi priority 1 and 3G priority 2.

Skyfire, Fring and Gravity all behave the way I want which is when the app opens and there is a known WiFi available it uses that else it uses 3g. It establishes it's connection, does what it needs to do and when I close the app it closes the connection.

I can't get Nokia messaging to do this. I have it set to sync my inbox every 15 minutes. Whenever it goes to do it's sync it uses 3G no matter what. In access point it uses 'Internet' so I can't see anything else I can change to try to make it behave like the others. Is this just the way it is with Nokia Messaging?

Regards, Jeff

Yes, i think it's the way it works. Nokia Messaging is network dependent. For example here in France Nokia messaging only works if you subscribe the " mail " option from the provider. That's why it only works with the GPRS/3G network. It works this way for me and my N97 mini.
