hi,
we've a application installed on Nokia N79, the application sends the GPS data as sms to a designated no. we use this to track our sales force. recently one executive deleted the application and escaped from his responsibilities. is it possible to protect the application such that the application cannot be deleted/ removed without a valid password, pls suggest the options available,
thanks,
What use is such a setting , when it is still possible to power off a device or even a hard reset or firmware reflash can be done ?
Just change the employment contract . Firing could be the result of abusive use of the company's phone ?

that's obvious, we've modified the contract accordingly, but the objective is to ensure there is less trouble managing, many executives find it easy to delete than to flash the handset!, by flashing they are too losing some details, they have to put that extra effort to back up all the details before they flash😊
Thanks for your reply . I know that apps can be password protected . An example is X-Plore . The caveat here is : the password is only used to make it run . The App still can be deleted !
Read only apps are found in the firmware or Z: partition . Your app also has to launch automatically . These changes are normally done by serviceproviders eg "locked Phones" . Maybe your provider can help you ?
Still : remains the possibility to power off the device or set it to "Off-Line" mode ......
