Home media/ upnp problem with wav files

Hi
I have recently joined the forum looking for a solution to play music stored on my laptop/ xtreamer on my mobile - basically a pmp that can play music from network. I stumbled upon the upnp bible and seemed that N95-1 can indeed play files on the device from a UPnP server.
So I looked out for the phone, and purchased one yesterday. I had to buy blind on this one as I could not carry my wifi router/ laptop at that time/ place.
When I came home, I was able to successfully connect to the WiFi. I could even play an mp3 from my xtreamer and I was extremely happy. However, my happiness was short lived. I do not have much mp3 - mostly wav files ripped from my CDs. Whenever I try to play a wav track from my laptop/ xtreamer, it opens up the music player and it just freezes. Even when I try to copy to phone, it opens up the copy progress bar, but just hangs there.

I tried playing a wav file directly downloaded from web interface of xtreamer and it played fine - so it doesn't seem to be a supported format issue. And the UPnP play on device feature too seems to be working.
I tried searching the forums but could not find a thread that talks about the same issue. Any help is appreciated. It could be a silly mistake like wifi going to sleep before file transfer happens etc.
