Hi Folks,
I work in Symbian Devices at Nokia. I can honestly say that we feel the pain that is shared here about past problems.
There has been a lot of effort on addressing this area within the business and all of us know we cannot have another N97 being shipped. This message has come through loud and clear from many quarters.
Cheers,
Kevin McIntyre

My guess from watching the Nokia Videos is its a N97 with a Capacitive screen, HDMI and supports both TMobile and ATT in the US with one phone. Not much there, I only switch carriers (if I do) once every two years. So not a big item for me to have one phone that works on both.
{Full Disclosure} I took a hammer to my N97 (it gave me great pleasure) and I now have a Google Nexus One which I like.
The only think I miss from Nokia is my Bluetooth transfer of photos with one click to my pc and my contacts list sync.
The N8 does not wow me.
Please check out our official press release (under Symbian^3 section), the N8 is not the N97 with capacitive screen 😊 N8 has full hardware acceleration for one thing.

The "Tegra" is not published fact (and not necessarily true at all), but guesswork/speculation from your side (or whomever you've obtained the info from).
I don't care about the camera so I'm not impressed. The new home screen looks like a Bada/Android clone. The RAM/processor is poor compared to most current high end hardware specs. Symbian^3 is unproven and the only hands on review, admittedly of a slightly older version, says its rubbish. No news on any significant browser improvements. This device is cutting edge enough for me. Nokia stills has lots of work to do to be competitive on the highest levels.
I just read all the comments in this thread. How can some commenters declare that the critics are biased because they haven't seen or played with the device and then gush about the phone when they themselves haven't seen or played with it? That seems incredibly biased to me.
*All* fanboys are asshats whether its for Apple, Google or Nokia!
n8 specs seems to be good . who will buy this phone ? i feel n97 owners will think thousand times before looking at this phone even though n8 had a good cam, good capacitive touch but ui looks same as n97 which is horrible still the same kind of ui experience
iam a n97 owner i just stopping it after 2 months because so many bugs utter ui hanging problems and it is priced on par with iphone but why and after 3 more months it had got an update like kinetic scrolling nothing else atleast they should have updated n97 with some of the future of n8 i just fell do nokia really care those unhappy owners , and nokia LOST its pride to say sorry for n97 owners what a shame
and those who gets n8 please post goods, cons of this phone with a good heart so that people like will not buy blindly just looking at NOKIA
I can find nowhere any mention of whrther SIP VOIP is incuded in the specification for the N8.
I would really like to see this, coupled with support for at least one HD codec, such as AMR-WB.
HD VoIP is going to be hot this year!
I've seen them flashy promo videos before.....Ahh yes for the N97 and what an epic fail that was.
I'll wait till the phone arrives in the flesh and has been tested in the real world before I would ever think about buying one.
Gents,
In several blogs I read the support of multi calendra. But in specs and commenst by Nokia themself there is nothing about this feature. Does somebody know if the N8 support multi calendar in a way to sync with multiple servers. For exampla, sync one calendar with the business Exchange and a second one with google?
Besides the other cools stuff of the N8, this is a importenad feature I need on my new phone
