THE ANSWER

Can I please have the definate answer from all you helpfull people! I am in usual boat using a Toshiba notebook running XP WITHOUT a COM port or IRDA either, great!

I can buy a USB-9 PIN serial adapter!

I can buy a USB - IRDA too!

Which one is works reliably? I have 3000 contacts to sync 1st time for business (takes 2 hour on PC anyway) thereafter a few extra a night only.

I thought IR didnt work with XP at all -???- I then noticed in latest PC Suite an IRDA IrComm setup driver! Does this mean XP users can now use an IR connection or is this just for 98/Win 2k?

I have read a USB-to-9-Pin Serial works but is unreliable!

OK............. please help which should I buy (use) I dont want to have to buy and try both only for a headache!

Thanks people

Dan

Well
ths usb irda shouldn't give any problems except the usual problems everyone has with xp irda and 9210 :s

The cable normally works the best that is that PC suite will recognise your virtual com port that the usb cable will simulate.

So it all comes down to 1 thing
Drivers (like always in XP)
