Here in Norway for Eurovision week (culminating in the final tonight), the last 7 days have been rather hectic for me, but one I always enjoy (others may disagree). Reporting from the Eurovision Song Contest is a great test of mobile connectivity and productivity. So what have I been using at the biggest television show on the planet? I've been finding a number of S60 5th Edition apps invaluable and hope that some of them will help others venturing abroad with their smartphone. Read on for some old favourites and some new additions.

why use Opera mini when you can use the native Opera mobile 10?
Appropriate you're using Opera as its Norwegian Software.
Must have another look at Comes with Music as it sounds as though you don't get charged for data from what you say - or are you downloading over wifi
Enjoy the song contest!
I thought the eurovision song contest was a gay thing

I guess because they are two very different apps working in different ways and mini is faster over a restricted connection. Like a cell where a lot of people are connected at the same time.
opera mini compress more data than the opera mobile.
lots more.
around 1:15 more for some home page.
Note that Mini is not recommended for secure end-to-end connections (i.e. SSL)

Is there any end-to-end security between my handset and for example paypal.com or my bank?
No. If you need full end-to-end encryption, you should use a full Web browser such as Opera Mobile.
Opera Mini uses a transcoder server to translate HTML/CSS/JavaScript into a more compact format. It will also shrink any images to fit the screen of your handset. This translation step makes Opera Mini fast, small, and also very cheap to use. To be able to do this translation, the Opera Mini server needs to have access to the unencrypted version of the Web page. Therefore no end-to-end encryption between the client and the remote Web server is possible.
SSIA.
When I went to China, I noticed that almost all apps on the Ovi store (most notably Angry Birds) were not available for purchase in my temporarily altered location. Pissed me off no end.
Max.
