30.x firmware for N97 in the pipeline?

You could well be right.

I just checked for my product code on-line with Nokia's update checker and it's showing v30.0.016.

Not available via PC/Ovi Suite or Nokia Software Updater yet.

Interesting, maybe Nokia is giving information on the coming update.
I have 21.0.102. There is no update OTA. However when I check with my product code, 0586199, the latest update is 21.0105. I checked with NSU there is no update, still shows 21.0102.

Looks promising, I'll keep my fingers crossed that just as they skipped v12 to release v20 I'll actually get a 3 branded version of v30, after having waited in vain for a v21 update.

Well. v21 to v30 is a very big firmware jump.

Hopefully it will address a lot of the issues we've all been experiencing.

This is similar to the firmware jumps with the N95 and N95 8GB where, about, 60% of problems were fixed in the v12 to v20/21 firmware upgrade and then the other niggling problems were addressed in the v21 to v30 update about a year later with the icing-on-the-cake being the v35 firmware released in January this year (some 2.5 years after release).

One thing I will definitely be doing on a firmware jump of this magnitude is a completely fresh install and then sit back and wait for all those who say that they did it OTA or via NSU with no problems and then start complaining about it slowing down their handsets, crashing, freezing, losing files, etc. :stupid:

It would seem that Nokia have changed their minds as the on-line nokia Firmware checker is now showing v21.0.102 as being available for my product code of v21.0.045.

Just checked OTA, NSU and it's not offering it to me.

I think they twigged that some of us had seen the v30 firmware update and have pulled it from the on-line checker here:-

I changed my product code to 0570817 when I first got the phone.

Current firmware is reporting v21.0.045 - custom version 21.0.045.C01.01

On the nokia website:

Latest available version is listed as "22.0.108" - website says "If this version is greater than your current software version, update now to get the latest features, applications and improvements."

Go to NSU, no update available.

Can anyone explain that?

Same for me. Version 30.x disappeared. However, the website now tells me that there is version 22.0.108 available for product code 0576355 and I should upgrade via NSU. Still, there is no software update available for my phone.

Nokia is really having fun these days... 😊

I'm leaning towards a problem with the update checker on the Nokia site. I've never seen an update show up without it being visible on navifirm first...

I'm sorry to burst the bubble here but that quote is a response to a member which has a Vodafone branded n97 mini which is still waiting for V11 to arrive.. Just like me.. Xbungle was not refering to the V20 (mini) or V30 (biggie), but he ment our vodafone firmware...

Nokia's on-line firmware checker has shown v22.0.108 being available (it isn't) for my product code for about 18 hours.

I think it was more fun when they were playing roulette with the firmware versions. :bebored:

Seems like the lottery is now over and the winning numbers are 21.0.045.
At least that's what the Nokia site is now giving me as the latest available firmware version for the N97.

Kinda disappointing as I was hoping for at least a minor update bringing the latest Ovi maps app to the rom so I can uninstall it from c: drive.
